Ingredients in Low Calorie Cornbread

To cut the calories, boost the protein, and add in a fat burning ingredient, I added greek yogurt to this recipe. It adds just the right moisture to the batter and naturally boosts metabolism too!

I used an all-natural zero calorie sugar (see the recipe card) but ou can use your favorite sweetener or granulated sugar.

How to Make Low Calorie Cornbread

To save clean up time, and calories (no oil is needed!) I used parchment paper to make this healthy cornbread recipe.

Parchment paper strops the low calorie cornbread from sticking to the pan, so cleanup is easier, as is slicing! Just pull up on the parchment paper, and transfer the cornbread to a cutting board.

How to Make Low Calorie Cornbread:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425° degrees and line a 9×9 baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the cornmeal, baking powder, salt and sugar together, mix together.
  3. In a separate large bowl, mix the greek yogurt, butter, egg and egg whites, whisk together.
  4. Stir the dry cornmeal mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, and smooth into an even layer.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out mostly clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and cool for 15 minutes before slicing into 12 squares.
  8. Serve hot or cold.
