| Jay_Are Premium Member 2004-Apr-13 11:52 pm I acutally got the Comcast Networking Package installed today and I have discussed the download speed with the tech guy. He performed a speed test and resulted about 3200kbps and then proceed to call the main office to check if there are problems and they could not find any. I have tweaked my connections with Cablenut and Dr. TCP specifically for 3000kbps/256kps settings. Could this be a problem with the Comcast Home Networking package. If it is do you know any settings for the Comcast HN. |

sleepy22 | sleepy22 Member 2004-Apr-14 6:13 am I think I might be having the same problem...right now on your test I have a simple 390k download is that normal or should I be getting double that?? Even worse do I have to upgrade my service to get to the nine hundred speed? I have a new system from just the past month and I'm connecting threw a ethernet card. |

| sleepy22 Member 2004-Apr-14 6:23 am also here are a couple of your tests results if that helps: Event Description First Time Last Time Counts Signal Acquired at 728.995 MHz Connection: Acquired another reason why I might think something is wrong is when I play ut2004 and I'm watching the ping sometimes it jumps to a lower number from always at least half my orginal number or lower then it goes back to what it was before. |

| drake to sleepy22 MVM 2004-Apr-14 6:34 am sleepy22 , Your Power Levels are fine, but you might want to start your own thread. Does it happen on all the PCs? It might be your NIC, Not sure. RoadRunner |

Instead of DU Super Controller I'm using my Netscreen 5XP (I manage the bandwidth of all of the computers in my home network that way). I think that there is some Linux based router software available that will let you do bandwidth limiting/traffic shaping too. (If I didn't already have the 5XP I would probably have gone that route) Without the traffic shaping I get results almost exactly like JR_U's. With the traffic shaping it is more like JeepMatt's, though not quite as good. |

MrRuckus8 | MrRuckus8 to SeattleMatt Member 2004-Apr-14 1:18 pm JeepMatt, question. How are you pingable? Im assuming you maybe have the Pro package? Im on the HN package and have been trying to find a way to make myself pingable, but I dont see anyways of doing so within the comcast supplied Linksys Modem/Router unit. Know of a way with this unit? heh. |
