Thanksgiving can be difficult for vegans. While many around the United States happily munch away on turkey, gravy, and sweet potato casseroles with marshmallows on top, vegans at the dinner table may struggle to find dishes that cater to their needs.
But there are plenty of festive dishes for vegans to enjoy on Thanksgiving—even if they don’t appear vegan at first glance. One such dish was recently shared by TikTok user Dee (@deetofugoat) to viral success.
“Guys, just a reminder that the Stove Top Pork is the flavor that is accidentally vegan,” she says in the video, which now has over 1.6 million views. In the caption, she adds, “I love it when we find accidentally vegan stuff.”
Surprisingly, the stuffing mix is actually vegan, as Dee says. The ingredients include enriched wheat flour, high fructose corn syrup, onions, and more—but no direct animal products.
As one user put it, “They are hurting sales calling it pork and not vegan.”
Update 11:45am CT, Nov. 28: In an email to Daily Dot, Martina Davis, Associate Director of Marketing at Kraft Heinz, shared the following: “We claim ‘real turkey broth’ for Stove Top Turkey and ‘real chicken broth’ for Stove Top Chicken. Other than that, there are no real animal products used in our flavors.”

While the Stove Top brand offers several stuffing varieties, the Stuffing Mix for Pork is the only vegan-friendly option. But hey, we'll take it. This easy-to-find brand is a pantry staple, so we're more than happy to bust it out at Thanksgiving.

This stuffing is made on the stove top with oven toasted bread cubes, onion, celery, dried seasonings, butter, and warm chicken broth. The best part is that it frees up oven space because it cooks on the stove top!
Traditionally stuffing isn't vegan because it uses dairy butter and sometimes even eggs, but I've figured out how to get rid of all that stuff. What is this? It's called stuffing because traditionally it's what people stuff turkey with before roasting.
