Lately I’ve been loving this Creamy Coleslaw recipe that I adapted from Bobby Flay. I love the thick creamy coleslaw dressing and it has the best balance of tangy and sweet. It is the best coleslaw recipe!

My family had a catfish restaurant when I was growing up and one of my jobs was to make the coleslaw. I have made countless large batches of coleslaw. If you aren’t a fan of mayonnaise, try this No Mayo Coleslaw with vinegar dressing.

Coleslaw is one restaurant dish that is made just as easily at home. This creamy coleslaw has just 10 ingredients and comes together in less than 10 minutes. I like to use shredded slaw mix but it’s totally fine to shred your own cabbage and carrots.

If you decide to shred your own cabbage and carrots, you will need about 6 cups of shredded cabbage and 1 cup of shredded carrots for this recipe.

If you are into meal prep, you can shred your cabbage and carrots ahead of time and keep in a zip top bag. The coleslaw dressing is easy to make ahead and keep in a mason jar. Mix together when you are ready to serve.

How long will Coleslaw keep?

Coleslaw can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 2 days. Coleslaw dressing can be made ahead and kept in a covered container in the refrigerator a day or two in advance and mixed with slaw mix the day you are serving the coleslaw.

What to serve with coleslaw?

I serve slaw with just about everything I make, our Easy Smoked Brisket, Dr Pepper Barbecue Sloppy Joes, Fried Chicken Strips, and Smoked Spare Ribs, well you get the picture. Everything including these fabulous Loaded Saw Dogs!
